I think you can get superglue glass, made especially for gluing glass or transparrent items. The secret to superglue by the way is one small drop per square inch, don't go spreading it all over the surface.. In the case of glass beads you would just need a tiny drop per bead.

You might have two options. You can look in the yellow pages of your phone book or online and find a dealer who appraises old jewelry or you could find an antiques dealer who might be able to tell you it's value. Just be sure it's someone reputable who won't rip you off. Good Luck!!

You could try emery paper - get 800 or 1200 grit to take the high polish off but still have a smooth but matte surface.
If you have access to a tumbler, try to buy grit blasting material of a grade that is shot through a small air polisher / grit blaster. The stuff is usually aluminium oxide and should be suitable.

Cheers

Grab the ring with two fingers from the top, then grab the ball and pull it down and away from the ring.

the beads gently exfoliate you're skin, they're a lot better for your skin than rough ground up peach pits which can damage sensitive skin and cause irritation
if you want to keep your skin looking soft and keep a nice "glow" moisturize with a product that contains copper and Q-10 after cleansing
hope that helped

craftown.com will give you a tutorial for beading and perhaps there are sites for books but you asked for beads and this site advertises selling beading at a low cost and they may have the books you will be looking for.

EDIT Scroll to the bottom of the page and on the left side they have some of the information you are looking for as far as patterns and it implies they are free .
